Nottingham Forest now have a squad that is the envy of many managers currently operating within the Premier League.
Qualifying for the Europa League last season led to Evangelos Marinakis heading into the transfer market and considerably bolstering the Forest squad.
Once a place in the Europa League was confirmed after Crystal Palace were removed from the competition, Marinakis went on the assault and managed to get a host of players over the line.
This season has been somewhat turbulent, but with just one defeat in six games in all competitions under Sean Dyche, the squad are now starting to show exactly what they’re capable of.

Brian Laws hails Nottingham Forest star
A lot of the talk this season has been centred around Morgan Gibbs-White, but his form under Sean Dyche has been nothing short of brilliant.
He’s scored in three consecutive Premier League matches for the first time in his career and now, Laws has made quite the claim about the England hopeful for this summer’s World Cup.
He told the Forest Focus podcast: “If you had asked me 18 months ago, I would have said yes. And the simple answer to that is I felt there’s a lot of parts of his game that were a little bit naive, made a lot of not schoolboy errors, but basics. But I think one thing that was outstanding in his performances was his willingness, his commitment.
And he’s prepared to run through a brick wall for you. So given time, and I think not only has he been given time, but also he’s matured in this last 18 months to such a degree. On the reverse of that is I wouldn’t swap him for anybody.”
THIS is what Brian Laws has said about Morgan Gibbs-White. Does he have a point?😍
Gibbs-White has extra incentive to play well
Dyche will be without Gibbs-White for the game against Malmö but in fairness, Forest will hope to see him return for the Premier League clash with Brighton on Sunday.
Gibbs-White will be delighted that Dyche has come in and clearly relieved him of some of the pressure he was feeling under Ange Postecoglou when his performances weren’t quite so impressive.
Now, Gibbs-White is playing well, and ultimately he needs to if he’s to force his way into the World Cup squad for 2026, especially with Thomas Tuchel’s star players working their way towards full fitness.
The 25-year-old has played brilliantly in recent weeks. Laws might be going for a bit of a stretch that he wouldn’t swap him for any other Premier League player, but it’s fair to say he’s a massive asset to the Forest squad.
