Nottingham Forest have allowed Arnaud Kalimuendo to join Eintracht Frankfurt on loan for the remainder of the season.
The French striker never really got a chance at Forest, with Sean Dyche seemingly reluctant to use him, despite Igor Jesus running on fumes in recent weeks.
Kalimuendo matched a record held by Peter Davenport with his Europa League exploits for the Reds, catching the eye.
Getting minutes in the Premier League has proved tough for Kalimuendo, but that feels odd given he bagged 17 goals in France last season.
Dyche hasn’t been impressed significantly, and now it would appear as though Forest have identified a replacement for the striker.

Nottingham Forest to press ahead for Jorgen Strand Larsen
Forest are going to go full steam ahead to sign Strand Larsen this month, according to BBC Sport.
In a further positive for Forest, it’s believed that Wolves – who look resigned to relegation – could choose to part with him during the transfer window.
The 25-year-old has scored three goals in 22 appearances in all competitions this season, with Wolves enduring a turbulent campaign.
During the 2024/25 campaign, Strand Larsen scored 14 goals for Wolves and also registered five assists in all competitions.
The player won’t come cheap, however, but that doesn’t appear to be impacting Forest in their quest to land the Premier League star.

Forest undeterred by huge price tag
Dharmesh Sheth is a man with his finger on the transfer pulse and he doesn’t think Forest are bothered by the price placed on Strand Larsen’s head.
Although Strand Larsen is valued at around £40 million, it’s unlikely to deter Forest from making a play for his services.
He explained on the latest Transfer Talk podcast: “West Ham were also looking at the Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen.
“I think they were being quoted around 40 million pounds, probably a bit too much for West Ham United. And clearly they’ve they’ve gone and spent that money elsewhere on on Pablo and Castellanos as well, but it doesn’t seem to at this stage to have deterred Nottingham Forest.”
Strand Larsen is perfect replacement for Chris Wood
There is a lot of hindsight involved, but perhaps Forest should have targeted the Wolves man during the summer.

The Wolves man is heavily linked with Forest
Wood scored 20 goals last season, and nobody could foresee him getting a long-term injury to leave Forest short.
Strand Larsen fits the physical presence that Wood has and with the New Zealand striker not getting any younger, the Norwegian player would be the ideal replacement.
With the World Cup on the horizon, Strand Larsen would likely welcome a move to Forest and if a deal can be struck, this wouldn’t be the worst signing in the world for the Reds.
