Nottingham Forest become latest club to miss out on £30m star after West Ham rejection

Nottingham Forest have been trying to step up their efforts to sign a new striker this month.

The Reds are desperately looking for a new goalscorer, with Chris Wood out indefinitely and Igor Jesus and Taiwo Awoniyi both struggling for consistent form.

In fairness to Jesus, he’s bagged eight goals this season, but seven of those have come in cup competitions, with his header against bottom club Wolves his only goal in the Premier League.

Forest are keen on Jorgen Strand Larsen and he does look like being the number one striker target for the club, with another link now jetting off elsewhere to sign for his latest team.

Youssef En-Nesyri set for Al Saad

According to NTV Sports, Forest have now missed out on the Moroccan striker, with his next club set to be in the Middle East.

It was claimed over the weekend that Forest were set to sign En-Nesyri after a bid was accepted by Fenerbahce, although it looks as though the player held too many reservations.

En-Nesyri previously rejected West Ham after expressing concerns over the weather in England, and it would appear that, unlike some other players, his heart just isn’t set on England.

En-Nesyri has scored eight goals this season in all competitions but at 28-years-old the Turkish team are looking to cash in on their star striker this month.

Forest won’t be the club landing the player and now it’s a case of back to the drawing board for the Reds in their quest to land a new striker.

In the club’s current predicament, Forest need players to come in who are already tried and tested in the Premier League, with Strand Larsen the obvious striker signing.

En-Nesyri has never really shown a proper desire to come over to England, with West Ham all too familiar with how he feels about this country.

This signing from a Forest perspective would perhaps have just been too much of a risk and only players desperately keen to sign for the Reds should be added this month.

A striker has to be added before the transfer deadline and now it will prove very interesting to see just who Forest end up with before the window slams shut.
