Jean-Philippe Mateta is the latest name to be linked with a move to Nottingham Forest.
Lorenzo Lucca checked in from Napoli at the end of last week, but it would appear as though Forest aren’t content with their current striker options.
Mateta has been linked with a move to Forest, and it’s believed that a bid of £35 million is going to be made by the Reds in the coming days.
Who was your Man of the Match vs Brentford
The French striker was the top scorer for Crystal Palace last season as they won the FA Cup and qualified for the Europa Conference League.

How Jean-Philippe Mateta feels about joining Forest
According to the very respectable David Ornstein from The Athletic, Mateta would be open to joining Forest before the transfer window closes.
It’s believed that Forest are preparing a sizeable salary for his services and that the player would be open to a move, with personal terms pretty much nailed on to be good enough.
Mateta has been in strong goalscoring form since signing for Crystal Palace and has bagged 56 goals since signing for the club having made 186 appearances.
At 28-years-old, some eyebrows might be raised at the potential value of £40 million, but in this day and age, that is about par for the course for someone with his level of Premier League experience.
Palace eye Forest target as replacement
The only way this deal will go through this month is if Palace can get themselves a replacement for Mateta, and Jorgen Strand Larsen is one of the names being linked.
Larsen could leave Wolves for around £40 million this month, with Wolves looking nailed on for a return to the Championship after several years in the Premier League.

Mateta has made it clear that he’d like to leave Palace, and it would appear that he’s got no qualms about joining Forest in a relegation battle this season.
If Forest can get this one over the line, it would be a real statement of intent and if everything clicks into place, it might not be long before a new player is arriving at the City Ground.
