Nottingham Forest are closing in on the appointment of Vitor Pereira as the club’s new permanent head coach.

A 0-0 draw with Pereira’s former club Wolves was enough to signal the end for Sean Dyche, with Evangelos Marinakis watching from the stands.

Vitor Pereira is set for the Nottingham Forest job as Sean Dyche’s replacement. Are you happy with the appointment?

The boos rang around the City Ground at full-time, with Dyche being sacked by Forest at gone midnight on Thursday morning.

Ever since the manager was sacked by Forest, speculation has been rife over who will be next in the City Ground hot seat, with Stuart Broad throwing his thoughts into the mix.

Who Stuart Broad would choose as the new Forest manager

Broad is one of the best test match bowlers that England has ever produced, and he remains a keen spectator at the City Ground.

The former cricket star is under no illusions as to who he thinks should be the next Forest boss, taking to Instagram to share his thoughts.

He simply posted: “Give it Stevie Cooper.”

The claim from Broad came after the club announced the sacking of Dyche on social media, and clearly, he’s keen to reminisce about happier times when Forest were dominating the Championship under Cooper.

Vitor Pereira set for Forest job

The Portuguese incumbent is set to get another Premier League job after leaving Wolves under a cloud earlier in the season.

Pereira didn’t win any of the first 10 games of the season and ultimately, that was largely down to the fact that his best players were sold in the summer and not replaced.

Pereira did a brilliant job with Wolves last season, coming in and keeping the club in the Premier League despite looking doomed when he was appointed.

Only time will tell whether or not this proves to be the right decision and the hope will be that Forest can get a few wins pretty quickly and start to pull clear of the relegation zone.
