Ryan Yates has tipped his cap to Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis ahead of Thursday’s Europa League clash against FC Midtjylland.
Yates will hope to play tonight as Forest start their last-16 clash against the Danish outfit, who beat the Reds in the group stages back in October.
Would you be happy with this Nottingham Forest team to play Midtjylland?
Let us know what changes you'd make!
The fact that the pair had already met once this season, coupled with astronomical pricing, had led to fans opting out of this clash, with the City Ground threatening to be nearly empty.
However, Marinakis has backed down to lower the prices in a desperate attempt to fill the stadium ahead of a big night on the banks of the River Trent.
And, Yates is a big fan of the owner’s decision…

Ryan Yates thinks Evangelos Marinakis has made the right call
Yates has applauded Marinakis for backing down over the ticket prices, offering his support to the club for the decision they’ve made.
The captain has played most of his football in the Europa League this season, and he will hope to lead the team out once again tonight.
He’s hoping the decision made by Marinakis can have a positive impact on the players as Forest go in search of a first-leg advantage to take to Denmark next week.
Yates said: “I think it’s class from both the fans to raise it and from the club to listen.
“The more we can sell The City Ground out under the lights, the more it’s only going to give us that extra boost when we need it.
“It can be difficult, a strong team – when the City Ground is rocking, and it’s a sell-out, it’s a difficult place to play for any opponent.
“At the end of the day it is difficult times for many supporters.
“The fans will really respect that they’ve listened and been able to give the opportunity to some fans that haven’t had the opportunity to to come to the City Ground in the Premier League.
“I hope it goes down well.”
Forest announce season ticket prices
On the back of the announcement made regarding Midtjylland ticket prices, Forest have also announced their season card prices for next season.
In another boost for the club’s suffering supporters, prices have been frozen for existing season card holders for the 2026/27 campaign.
It’s a positive step in the right direction and suggests that the club have listened to the concerns of the fans in recent weeks.
Now, supporters will hope that the football they’re watching next season remains in the Premier League and not in the Championship.
