Evangelos Marinakis has been proven absolutely right after what Elliot Anderson did vs Chelsea

Elliot Anderson is going to be a huge talking point in the summer transfer window, and Nottingham Forest are in control of any negotiations that might take place.

Relegation would have likely seen Anderson leave for a much lower price, but after his 45-minute performance against Chelsea, Evangelos Marinakis has all the bartering chips he needs.

😍GET IN THERE!!! Sum up our huge win over Chelsea in three words…

Anderson was one of a host of big names dropped to the bench as Vitor Pereira made eight changes to his team, with one eye firmly on Thursday’s Europa League semi-final against Aston Villa.

Some eyebrows have been raised at Forest’s £120 million valuation of Anderson, but after his Stamford Bridge performance, there is every reason for the Reds to value him so highly.

Elliot Anderson upstages Moises Caicedo

Chelsea haven’t been shy of spending money over the years and Forest’s second string made a mockery of some of the money they’ve spent over the years with a stunning display during a 3-1 win.

Caicedo signed for Chelsea for £115 million in the summer of 2023 and he’s largely been considered as one of the top midfielders in the Premier League.

Based on yesterday, it looked as though Chelsea have considerably overspent on the player, who was completely dismissed by Anderson in the second half of yesterday’s clash.

The Forest man looks to have a much higher ceiling than Caicedo, who was cautioned during the contest and looked somewhat out of sorts.

Anderson produced a stunning pass to Morgan Gibbs-White as he teed up Taiwo Awoniyi for his second goal of the afternoon and glided around the pitch with panache and verve.

Forest have always claimed they want to try and emulate the Brighton model when it comes to recruitment and nobody batted an eyelid when Chelsea tossed £115 million in their direction for Caicedo.

Forest can ask for whatever they want for Anderson

If the Reds can win the Europa League and reach the Champions League, there is perhaps a small chance that Forest can keep hold of Anderson for another year.

However, the signs point to his departure, and with Premier League survival just about secured, Manchester City or Manchester United will have to prepare to dig deep to land the Forest man.

Who was your Man of the Match vs Chelsea?

There are a fair few to choose from!

Caicedo is proof that Marinakis is right to demand a huge transfer fee, with Chelsea offering an indication that if these so-called bigger clubs want to pick up players, they are prepared to pull out the stops and pay the money.

Anderson’s performance in front of Marinakis at Stamford Bridge will have delighted the Forest owner and now he might be forgiven for getting a little bit excited over what the Reds might receive in the way of a transfer fee for the midfielder.
