Nottingham Forest have been drawing up a shortlist of targets ahead of the summer transfer window.

Nottingham Forest have been linked with Hayden Hackney in recent weeks as they prepare to lose Elliot Anderson.

Gustavo Hamer has also emerged as a target for Vitor Pereira’s side after registering 20 goal involvements for Sheffield United this season.

Nottingham Forest closely monitoring Honest Ahanor

According to Italian outfit TuttoAtalanta, Nottingham Forest are having a close look at Atalanta centre-back Honest Ahanor.

Forest have been showing an interest in Ahanor since November and remain attentive to the situation ahead of the window opening on Monday, the 15th of June.

The 18-year-old, who played nine games in the Champions League this season, is expected to command a substantial transfer fee.

Provided we go with one striker on Sunday against Manchester United, who would you pick?🤔

Do we go with the experience in Wood or the energy of Jesus?

Ahanor joined from Genoa in a £13m deal last summer, so Atalanta will be looking to make a huge profit on that figure.

Forest will have to weigh up whether it’s worth taking a risk and bidding in excess of £30m for a relatively unproven defender.

It has also been reported that the 2008-born is in no rush to leave Atalanta as he has great belief in their project.

So, this seems like a fairly unrealistic deal this summer, although Forest chiefs will probably continue to monitor his progress next season.

That comes with its own potential issue, though, as his pricetag may skyrocket even further by this time next year.
