Nottingham Forest were completely robbed of a point at Old Trafford on Sunday, and Manchester United claimed a 3-2 win.
Referee Michael Salisbury allowed Matheus Cunha’s goal to stand for United, despite VAR recommending a review following a clear handball.
Salisbury inexplicably looked at the incident and then proceeded to stay with his original decision, claiming the handball was actually accidental.
😡ANOTHER apology from the PGMOL sent to Nottingham Forest!
Is there any wonder Marinakis gets annoyed given the woeful standards?! 😒
Gary Neville was stunned by the decision, which, as a Manchester United fan, tells you all you need to know.
Now, the aftermath of the game, the decision that every Forest fan recognised at the weekend has now been confirmed by the PGMOL.

PGMOL react after the controversial Nottingham Forest decision
United knew they’d got away with one here, with their fans desperate to tell anyone who would listen just how well the referee had done for applying the law correctly.
Only, the United fans were completely wrong.
A little over 24 hours following the incident involving Forest, the Reds have received yet another apology from the PGMOL.
Howard Webb has contacted Forest in order to advise that the second goal scored by United shouldn’t have been awarded.
It means very little in the grand scheme of things now, but at least Forest fans are now safe in the knowledge that PGMOL are happy to go against their referee.
Time for PGMOL to clean up their act
It’s a very embarrassing look for Webb to keep sending all these apology letters.
Webb was an excellent referee back in the day, as he officiated the World Cup final back in 2010, as the tip of the iceberg on a wonderful career.
Another apology letter to Forest won’t wash with Evangelos Marinakis, and it’s time for the powers that be to act.
Salisbury is a serial offender when it comes to applying the handball law incorrectly after another incorrect decision in the game between West Ham and Everton, with the Toffees receiving an apology.
😤How on earth has Manchester United’s second goal stood against Nottingham Forest?!
A complete and utter disgrace!
Now, the PGMOL have to clean up their act when it comes to some of the referees being used.
Salisbury looks short of the required quality to operate at this level, and it felt as though he simply didn’t want to be the bearer of bad news towards Manchester United at the weekend.
Some of the officials in the Premier League aren’t fit for purpose and it’s perhaps time to keep some of them on their toes and bring in demotion to the EFL for those who regularly make wrong decisions.
