Igor Jesus has enjoyed a very positive first season at Nottingham Forest.

He’s occasionally found the Premier League rough going in terms of goals, but with Chris Wood missing six months with a knee injury, he’s been thrown in at the deep end.

🏆Igor Jesus is the Europa League Golden Boot winner, but does this earn him another chance at Nottingham Forest next season?🤔

Jesus has stepped up and since Wood returned, Vitor Pereira has often opted to play both strikers at the same time and that has helped the Brazilian massively.

Jesus won the Golden Boot in the Europa League with seven goals, and in making the official Team of the Year, he was joined by a very surprising Forest teammate.

Morato named in Europa League Team of the Year

The Brazilian defender has played a lot of football in the Europa League this season, and his form has earned him a place in the Team of the Year.

Recently, UEFA announced on their official Europa League channel that Morato had been named in the Team of the Year, compiled by the UEFA Technical Observer Group across the campaign.

Morato played in all but two of the Europa League games, with the player not picked for the Group Stage game against Porto, or the first leg of the last 32 clash with Fenerbahce.

The 24-year-old has played 65 games for Forest in total and has scored once, with his maiden Reds goal coming in the 3-2 defeat to Manchester United last weekend.

Morato has been prone to errors at times this season, but his inclusion in this Europa League compilation does seem to suggest that he’s capable on occasions.

We need to have a conversation about Morato after his inclusion in the Europa League Team of the Year. Should we keep him next season?🤔

Forest turned down money for Morato in the January transfer window and now, Pereira will have a decision to make on the backup defender this summer.

While Morato isn’t perfect, he’s perhaps a decent squad player and it surely wouldn’t be the end of the world if he remained at the City Ground beyond the summer.
