Nottingham Forest will hope to avoid a relegation scrap next season and kick on in the Premier League.

Forest will be one of 11 clubs not competing in Europe next season, and that could see a window of opportunity for the Reds to progress under Vitor Pereira.

Nottingham Forest have already delivered their stance on Elliot Anderson!

How much would you consider selling him for this summer?

Behind the scenes, it looks as though there might be some changes, with Edu’s future up in the air for several months, all the way back to last August when he had a bust-up with Nuno Espirito Santo.

As fans wait patiently for his departure to be announced, Forest have now informed fans that another important figure has departed the club.

Nottingham Forest announce Craig Mulholland departure

Mulholland came to the club shortly after Ross Wilson, and he was appointed as the club’s Academy Director when Gary Brazil left for the Football Association.

Now, Forest have lost out to a National FA once again, with Mulholland becoming the Chief Football Officer at the Scottish FA.

Mulholland has overseen some superb work with the club’s academy and it’s going to be vital that he’s replaced quickly in the coming weeks.

Julian Bennett is still a constant behind the scenes at the City Ground and is something of an ambassador for the club these days.

He believes Mulholland will be sorely missed and posted on social media: “Wishing Craig Mulholland all the best for the future, thanks for your outstanding leadership across all of our academy.”

Forest now have to make sure that a new Academy Director is lined up as a matter of urgency.

The academy remains the heartbeat of the football club, and it’s one aspect of Forest that constantly unites the fan base.

Players like Ryan Yates, Zach Abbott and Jimmy Sinclair have all got minutes this season, and that bodes well for the future.

Now, Mulholland’s work will be consigned to the history books and it’s vital that the replacement is equally equipped to progress the academy.
