Chelsea are out of the race to sign Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest this summer.

The Forest number eight is one of the most sought-after players in the Premier League this summer. The last two seasons have proven a breakthrough period for the midfielder and now he’s a wanted man.

👀When both of their careers have finished who will have the bigger collection of trophies – Elliot Anderson or Declan Rice?

He might not have won the PL title but is it fair to say Anderson has been better than Rice this season?🤔

Chelsea are going in search of a new midfielder, with former Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso set to get to work when pre-season starts in July.

However, Anderson won’t be on their list of targets with the Blues believing the £100 million-rated star is looking pretty certain to head elsewhere during the window.

Elliot Anderson heading to Manchester City

According to FlashScore, the consensus among the Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, is that Anderson will sign for City for a deal in excess of £100 million this summer.

Chelsea aren’t in the market to be spending £100 million on a new midfielder this month and have instead set their sights on landing Adam Wharton instead.

Anderson has been a revelation in the Forest engine room for two seasons and after signing for just £35 million, the Reds will definitely be making a significant profit on his sale.

Nottingham Forest have already delivered their stance on Elliot Anderson!

How much would you consider selling him for this summer?

With the World Cup around the corner, Forest would dearly love for him to head to that tournament still part of the City Ground squad, allowing the club more wriggle room if he has a positive impact this summer.

Anderson will be extremely difficult for Forest to replace this summer and the hope will be that the Reds already have a contingency plan in place when the times comes for him to depart.
