Nottingham Forest make £23m bid for midfield ‘animal’ with Champions League experience

Nottingham Forest will be in the mix to sign a new midfielder this summer, with Elliot Anderson likely to leave.

Backup midfield options right now include Nicolas Dominguez and Ryan Yates, and an option for the starting eleven will be required if Anderson indeed leaves.

If Manchester City were to offer a player to sweeten the Elliot Anderson deal, who would you like included?

Anderson is heavily linked with Manchester City, and it would represent a pretty sizeable blow to lose an influential player from the squad.

Now, Forest look to be making contingency plans for an inevitable departure and are targeting a Barcelona midfielder.

Nottingham Forest make bid for Barcelona gem Marc Casado

According to reports, Forest are moving to sign a midfielder and have tabled a £23 million bid for Casado.

The Barca midfielder made 24 La Liga appearances for the Spanish giants last season, and he could now be on the move.

The Catalan outfit are under some financial constraints, and they’re hoping to sell some players to continue funding their recruitment drive.

Casado has a contract at the Nou Camp until 2028, and it’s unclear at this stage whether the player would welcome a move to the Premier League.

Barca are willing to do business at around £27 million, and that means the Reds aren’t a million miles away from the valuation with this opening offer.

Casado has Champions League experience at Barcelona, and after coming through the club’s academy, Barca will want to ensure they get what they feel he is worth should they sell him.

Who is your ‘hear me out’ signing for Nottingham Forest to make this summer?! 👀🤔

The youngster has two caps for the Spain national team and was called an ‘animal’ after helping his country beat Switzerland back in November 2024.

Signing Casado won’t come easily, but he’d likely prove a very useful signing if a deal can be struck.
