Nottingham Forest make big announcement and it could signal recruitment shift

Nottingham Forest are busy getting plans in place ready for the 2026/27 campaign after avoiding relegation under Vitor Pereira.

Pereira is set to have a small say in transfers, much like Nuno Espirito Santo did last season, with a recruitment team behind the scenes likely to do most of the heavy lifting.

🤝Who should be the FIRST player sold by Nottingham Forest this summer?

Forest have George Syrianos and Pedro Ferreira behind the scenes, with other scouts working alongside those two in order to bring players to the club.

With Evangelos Marinakis keen to get things moving ahead of next season, the club have made a big announcement regarding a key figure.

Nottingham Forest announce Lina Souloukou exit

Forest are now on the lookout for a new Chief Executive Officer after it was announced that the club had parted company with the former Roma employee.

Souloukou had been in place since January 2025, and given her work in Italy, a lot of the transfer links coming from Serie A seemed to make a lot of sense.

Although she clearly wasn’t responsible for all of the transfer activity, with Syrianos having that as a bigger part of his role, there had been some input from her on that side of things.

This does come as a bit of a surprise, and clearly Marinakis wants to make some necessary changes to benefit the day-to-day running of the football club.

Souloukou will almost certainly need to be replaced, and this now becomes a priority for the Forest owner to sort out behind the scenes.

👀Could Lois Openda be our number one striker next season?

Does the fact he scored twice in 37 games during 2025/26 bother you at all?🤔

The work done by Souloukou perhaps won’t live long in the memory, and there is no indication as to why she’s decided that the time is now right to depart Forest.

Forest had already been linked with Davide Frattesi, Lois Openda and Jan Ziolkowski from Serie A this summer, and it will now be fascinating to see what happens with those links on the back of Souloukou’s exit.
