Nottingham Forest are in the market for a defender this summer transfer window.

Vitor Pereira has looked at Arthur Theate and have already made contact to sign the Eintracht Frankfurt defender.

Nottingham Forest have also been linked with Jan Ziolkowski, who is a promising young centre-back at AS Roma.

Eddie Howe’s past comments on Nottingham Forest target Lloyd Kelly

It’s being reported that Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Lloyd Kelly from Serie A giants Juventus.

Kelly is valued at around £30m and is being closely watched by Newcastle United and Aston Villa.

Indeed, Kelly was formerly at Newcastle, so it’s interesting to see that they’re considering re-signing the 27-year-old.

Eddie Howe worked with the defender at Newcastle and Bournemouth, so he’s well-versed on what he brings.

Speaking in 2019, Howe said there aren’t many who have a better left foot than the versatile Forest target.

“He can play the dual-role at centre-half and full-back which is a great thing to have in our armoury.

“He’s a natural left-footer, there’s not many players of that quality around with a left foot.”

Howe has also previously stated: “But he is an outstanding player, got great potential.”

Fill in the gap: Lloyd Kelly would be a __/10 signing for Nottingham Forest

Clearly, based on those comments, Forest fans should be very encouraged by the potential signing of Kelly.

Not only would he bring a bit of poise and composure at the back, but he’d also add depth at centre-back and left-back.

That kind of versatility is a must when building a squad capable of mounting a top-half challenge in the Premier League.
