Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson showed the world what he was all about last night as England beat Croatia 4-2.
The midfielder made his maiden England start at a major tournament as the Three Lions produced a stunning second half to kill off an enthusiastic Croatian outfit.

Jude Bellingham raved about Anderson following England’s win, and it appears former England striker Alan Shearer also enjoyed his performance.

Shearer has never hid from praising Anderson, and as a Newcastle supporter, he’s also shared his frustration that the Magpies had to sell him.
After last night’s victory, which saw Anderson praised in the media, Shearer weighed in on the midfielder’s Instagram post with a short message.
He said: “Outstanding man.”
Anderson was top of the shop when it came to a number of metrics on the night for England.
In some senses he upstaged Declan Rice and his assist for Bellingham’s goal was just sublime, if unsurprising from a Forest point of view.

Reds supporters have watched Anderson play like this for a prolonged period and without Forest giving him a platform to shine, he’s probably not playing at a World Cup.
Anderson does look set for a big move this summer and more performances of this nature will only enhance those chances.
Still, Forest can be very proud of the player that Anderson has developed in to and doing it on the world stage can only bode well for the football club when it comes to increasing his valuation.
