Nottingham Forest transfer deal hangs by a thread as Liverpool reject bid

Liverpool hold the aces to Nottingham Forest signing one player this summer, and the Reds have now suffered a setback of sorts.

The former champions are hoping to sell Curtis Jones to Inter during the transfer window, but their opening gambit of £21 million has been flatly refused.

⭐Would you be happy with the £45m signing of Lucas Bergvall to replace Elliot Anderson? Is he right for Forest? 🤔

Whether Inter return with a new bid remains to be seen, and Forest will be waiting patiently to see what happens when it comes to the San Siro-based outfit.

Davide Frattesi deal now hangs by a thread

It was claimed over the weekend by Marco Barzaghi that Inter are reluctant to let Frattesi move to Forest until they’ve bolstered their own midfield options.

Frattesi has seemingly agreed on a move to Forest, having been convinced by the hierarchy, but now this could be one that drags on a little bit longer.

Barzaghi said on his YouTube channel: “For Frattesi, we’re waiting for Jones to open up the midfield.

“I wouldn’t forget about (Mandela) Keita from Parma, who, in my opinion, at a more accessible price would be a nice reinforcement to play as a two-man midfield, but Frattesi needs to leave.”

Frattesi would be a strange Forest signing

Admittedly, if the price was right, it would be snobbish to consider the signing of a player with vast Champions League experience as underwhelming.

However, Forest are quite well stocked in midfield, and it’s hard to fathom what he will bring that Ibrahim Sangare and Nicolas Dominguez don’t already bring to the table.

FILL IN THE GAP: Davide Frattesi would be a __/10 signing….🤔

👀Should we be aiming a little bit higher?🤔

Frattesi does have experience, which would help a group of young players around the first-team squad, but is that enough?

Forest are linked with Lucas Bergvall, and someone with that level of potential and Premier League experience would likely entice the fan base to get excited far more.
