Nottingham Forest are set to make advances to replace Elliot Anderson and have identified a top target for the summer transfer window.

If you believe what you read, Anderson is on the cusp of a move to Manchester City, with their latest bid of £106 million rejected last week.

🔥If Nottingham Forest keep all four of their current strikers, who should start 2026/27 as the first choice for Vitor Pereira?🤔

Anderson starred in the first England game at the World Cup and looks as though City will eventually give Forest the £120 million that Evangelos Marinakis is pushing for.

Replacing Anderson won’t be easy, but after Forest were linked with Davide Frattesi, it now looks as though the net has also been cast closer to home.

Nottingham Forest want Lucas Bergvall

According to The Athletic, Bergvall has informed Tottenham of his desire to walk away from the North Londoners this summer and seek a new challenge.

Spurs almost got relegated last season after a long battle with the drop, although they do have big plans under new boss Roberto De Zerbi.

With Tottenham planning a summer spending spree, Forest have tossed their hat into the ring for Bergvall, who can leave for around £45 million.

Forest will have a host of competition to sign Bergvall, with it claimed that several Premier League clubs and overseas outfits have been alerted to his new availability.

The 20-year-old signed for Tottenham in the summer of 2024 from Djurgarden, and he’s made 78 appearances for the club in all competitions.

Right now, Bergvall is with Graham Potter’s Sweden squad at the World Cup, and his future is unlikely to be resolved until his participation in the United States is over.

Recently, Benjamin Nygren – his Swedish teammate – called Bergvall ‘awesome’ and labelled him a ‘pure midfielder’ with a bright future clearly ahead of the player.

⭐Would you be happy with the £45m signing of Lucas Bergvall to replace Elliot Anderson? Is he right for Forest? 🤔

Bergvall could prove useful signing for Forest

This is definitely the sort of link that will have Forest fans more excited than some of the other rumours so far this summer.

With the World Cup ongoing, transfer stories might be less forthcoming, and much of the club’s business might have to come after the tournament has finished.

However, Bergvall does feel like an exciting link.

At 20, the player has a bright future ahead of him and with Anderson likely to depart, Bergvall would know that he’s pretty much nailed on to play every week with Forest.

This is a link that feels far more exciting for fans, given that Bergvall is a plug-and-play option for the Premier League and just like Anderson did when he signed from Newcastle, he boasts bags of untapped potential.
