England got up and running with a 4-2 win over Croatia last week, with Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson starting at a major tournament for the first time.
Anderson is seemingly set for Manchester City this summer, and Forest do look to have seen him in the Garibaldi for the final time.
The star boy has arrived at the World Cup! Sum up that Elliot Anderson performance using just ONE WORD!⭐
However, for now, he remains a Forest player, and there is a real sense of pride that the club have a midfielder playing for the England national team at the World Cup.
Anderson has copped rave reviews for his efforts in England’s 4-2 win over Croatia, but Paul Scholes has shared how Harry Kane stifled him a little bit.

Paul Scholes says Harry Kane didn’t help Elliot Anderson
Scholes has been speaking on the latest episode of The Good, The Bad and The Football podcast, and he suggested Anderson was quiet but through no fault of his own.
Anderson still played very well and got an assist for Jude Bellingham’s goal just after half-time, much to the excitement of the Forest fans.
Scholes said: “He is comfortable, isn’t he? I thought he was a little bit quiet, a little bit, honestly.
Do you know why, though?. Because Harry Kane kept coming into his position, didn’t he? Do you know what I mean?
“Now, that’s the way Harry Kane plays, and he is brilliant at it. I just felt it stopped Elliot Anderson from having a bigger influence on the game.”
Anderson should almost certainly keep his place in the team against Ghana on Tuesday night, with Thomas Tuchel unlikely to make wholesale changes for the contest.
A win would see England through to the last 32 with a game to spare, and for Anderson, it’s another chance to keep proving himself on the international stage.
Elliot Anderson wants to win a major tournament with England – can the Three Lions claim glory at the World Cup this year?
Anderson’s stock – and transfer value – is increasing with every stunning performance, and perhaps it’s no surprise that Evangelos Marinakis hasn’t sanctioned his sale just yet.
All eyes will remain on Anderson at this World Cup and for Forest fans it will be good to see the rest of the world stand up to take notice over just how good the midfielder is.
