Evangelos Marinakis looks set to let a Nottingham Forest player join Olympiacos, and his time at the City Ground has proved fruitless.

The Forest owner is always putting the Reds’ interests first, but he does like to ensure his other clubs are well stocked for players too.

A number of deals have been done between Forest, Olympiacos and Rio Ave, with the Marinakis empire often rotating players.

Now, another player looks set to leave Forest without making a single appearance for the football club this summer.

David Carmo set to sign for Olympiacos

When Carmo swapped Olympiacos for Forest shortly after winning the UEFA Conference League with the Greek outfit, it was anticipated he might actually be part of the Forest squad.

However, it appears as though he’s going to be on the move again, this time back to Olympiacos on a permanent basis from the City Ground.

Last season, Carmo played 22 times for Real Oviedo in Spain, but they’re not going to sign him permanently, with Marinakis now set to take him to Olympiacos for around £7 million.

Now, the defender who has made 17 appearances for Angola on the international stage is set to leave the City Ground this summer, with a wave of defenders ahead of him on Trentside.

It’s another bad look for one of Marinakis’ inter-club signings and it would be nice if one day we can get a player signed from Olympiacos who makes the step up to Premier League football.

Players who have swapped Nottingham Forest for Olympiacos

A number of players have left Forest to sign for Olympiacos over the years.

It’s an ideal way to help Forest comply with PSR finances, but it’s fair to say that when it comes to bolstering squads, it’s Olympiacos who get the better end of the deal.

The players to have featured for both over the years look like this:

It remains to be seen now if any more of the current crop will end up on their way to Greece during the current transfer window this summer.
