Oliver Glasner is nearing a move to Nottingham Forest as the club’s supporters get used to another head coach.
Vitor Pereira posted a classy departure message on Instagram last week, after it was announced he would be replaced by former Crystal Palace manager Glasner.

Forest have pushed the boat out to get Glasner, and now Evangelos Marinakis must allow the Austrian to work his magic and give him time to get the football club pushing on.
Much has been made of the wages that Glasner will earn at the City Ground, but even if the £13 million per year is true, it’s about time Forest went big on a head coach rather than swapping and changing every few months.
Ahead of his appointment being announced, we’ve looked at how Forest might line up and at how the summer transfers will now be dictated by Glasner’s arrival.
How Glasner brings his 3-4-3 system to Forest
Glasner looks unlikely to abandon his tried and tested 3-4-3 system at the City Ground, and that could mean some exciting tweaks.
Forest will likely target some specialist wing-backs, with Neco Williams and Ola Aina likely to prove capable of playing in those positions too.

A good appointment? 🤔
Luca Netz is the understudy to Williams on the left, and he appears to have the skill set to play as a wing-back in a Glasner system.
Elsewhere, Forest will definitely need a new player to replace the void created by Elliot Anderson’s move to Manchester City.
Glasner largely likes midfield players who are industrious and progress the ball well, with both Adam Wharton and Will Hughes proving to be good players under his tutelage at Palace.
The Morgan Gibbs-White conundrum
Naturally, Gibbs-White plays as a number 10 and there is a sense that Glasner could deploy two.
That could lead to Gibbs-White playing in a natural position alongside another number 10, which would most likely be that of a new signing.
Gibbs-White can come in from the left, and if Glasner does want his front three to comprise two wide players and a centre-forward, that could be another option for the incoming boss.
Name one Crystal Palace star you’d love to see join Glasner at Forest 👀
The number 10 thrived in Pereira’s system last season and now Glasner will hope to get a similar level of success out of the captain next season.
Certain players will be needed
For the first time, it’s imperative that everyone be on the same wavelength when it comes to transfers, and Glasner needs to have the final say.

Glasner grew tired of working for Steve Parish at Palace largely because the recruitment wasn’t aligned with his thinking, and Marinakis can’t suffer the same fate.
Glasner is a shrewd man-manager, and as a head coach with a clear idea of how he wants his teams to play, it’s imperative that he’s allowed a big say when it comes to the players he wants.
Some of the players added to the ranks might not be the most exciting but if Glasner wants them as part of his team, he’s got to be trusted to do what he thinks is best for the team.
