Ben Osborn has suggested that he is pleased to see Max Lowe doing so well at Nottingham Forest since joining on loan from Sheffield United.

The former Reds utility man has been chatting to Nottinghamshire Live ahead of his return to the City Ground tomorrow night.

It will be the first time Osborn has played against Forest since his departure in 2019. The academy graduate played 230 times in the Garibaldi and should start for the Blades tomorrow.

Lowe joined the Reds in the summer. He has been really good since coming in, making the left-sided wing-back role his own.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

The youngster will be ineligible tomorrow though but Osborn has said that he’s been pleased to see him playing well.

He told Nottinghamshire Live: “I watched his first two games. He’s done well. I think the new system suits him massively. I think both wing-backs have been playing well.

“I’m happy for him that he’s playing regularly. He’s a great lad and a great professional. He won’t be able to play against us, which is a bit of a benefit.”

Osborn is perhaps most famous at Forest for his injury-time winner against Derby at Pride Park in 2015.

He divided opinion at the City Ground but always gave his all every time he pulled on the shirt and should get a strong reception tomorrow night.

Lowe absence will be a big blow for Forest

The Reds must find a way to fill the void which Lowe will leave tomorrow night. He’s been exceptional since coming in and Steve Cooper will be gutted he can’t play tomorrow.

It does open the door for another player to earn a chance though. Whoever gets the nod will have sizeable shoes to fill and they must come in and do a job for the team.

Interestingly the role is perhaps tailor-made for Osborn! He often played left-back for Forest and his qualities are suited to a wing-back role.

He will line up against the Reds though and in recent weeks he’s been operating on the right-hand side.

Forest must beware of Osborn tomorrow night and they’ll hope to combat his class with a strong showing from whoever replaces Lowe.
