Brian Laws raved about Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Brice Samba live on BBC Radio Nottingham after last night’s game.
The Reds drew 1-1 with Sheffield United at the City Ground. Morgan Gibbs-White put the Blades in front but Lewis Grabban earned a share of the spoils.
It was the least Forest deserved and in the end, they might have won it. Under Steve Cooper, it’s one defeat in nine for the Reds, however, and that represents progress.

Following the game, talk turned towards the performance of Samba.
The Forest goalkeeper was powerless to prevent Gibbs-White from giving the visitors the lead and his distribution was largely good throughout.
He also made a strong save from Rhian Brewster in the closing stages and Laws heaped praise on the goalkeeper.
The ex-Forest man told BBC Radio Nottingham: “He was deservedly dropped earlier in the season. His attitude had dropped and the right call was made to take him out.
“He seems to have rediscovered his ability almost, he’s gone back to basics.
“Tonight, he was quickly out of his box and he’s thrown some brilliant balls out; one in particular to Joe Lolley was just fantastic.”
Laws right regarding Samba and his Forest form
The Congolese goalkeeper hasn’t always covered himself in glory. This season, in particular, some errors have crept in and he was correctly dropped earlier in the campaign.
Samba does get a bit of a raw deal from some supporters. It seems that whenever he concedes he typically gets pelters, regardless of how the goal is scored.

The 27-year-old showcased some tremendous distribution last night, whilst his handling from crosses was decent too.
Forest now have Ethan Horvath in reserve and he will be waiting patiently for a chance to shine.
Right now, however, Samba is Forest’s established number one and Laws’ points about the stopper are all very valid.
