Nottingham Forest academy director Gary Brazil has delivered an exciting prediction regarding young striker Dale Taylor.

The 17-year-old was named in the Northern Ireland senior squad for the first time last week.

He will join up with Ian Baraclough’s team ahead of games against Lithuania and Italy in the next fortnight.

Taylor is a burgeoning talent that Forest landed from Linfield in the summer of 2020.

He caught the eye in Northern Ireland, scoring a senior goal at the age of just 15.

Following his moment of brilliance his boss at the time, David Healy, labelled him ‘exceptional’ for his performance.

Taylor hasn’t stepped up to make the grade at first-team level at Forest just yet. He did finish last season as a regular with the under-23 outfit, however.

The teenager will now be rubbing shoulders with Premier League players for the next couple of weeks.

He could find himself earning a shot at downing the European Champions when Italy arrive at Windsor Park.

Taylor is a talented boy and clearly, the coaching staff behind the scenes at the academy have high hopes for him.

The new kid on the block signed professional terms at Forest in December of last year and it’ll interesting to see how his career develops.

What has Brazil said about Forest gem Taylor?

Nobody is more thorough in his attempts to nurture the very best talent for Nottingham Forest than Brazil.

His work in bringing through a conveyor belt full of talent is admirable and he deserves all the credit in the world.

Following his call up to the senior Northern Ireland ranks, Brazil has taken to Twitter to congratulate Taylor.

He has delivered an exciting prediction regarding Taylor and his progress could seriously delight the Forest fan base.
