Michael Owen has given his verdict on speculation that Nottingham Forest could sack Steve Cooper if the team lose to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.
The former Liverpool and Manchester United striker has also given his take on whether or not Cooper would be good enough to take charge of Crystal Palace.
So, what has Michael Owen said about Nottingham Forest, Steve Cooper and Crystal Palace? Let’s take a look.
Michael Owen shocked to hear Steve Cooper could lose his Nottingham Forest job
Well, former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen cannot believe that Nottingham Forest could sack Steve Cooper today.
The pundit finds it “ridiculous” that Forest could get rid of Cooper if the team lose to Wolverhampton Wanderers away from home in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Reds have lost their last four Premier League matches and are now only four points above the relegation zone.
According to talKSPORT, if Forest lose to Wolves on Saturday, then it is unlikely that Cooper would stay in charge at the City Ground.
Owen has also said that Cooper would be the perfect manager for Crystal Palace.
According to journalist Daniel Taylor in The Athletic, Palace could try to hire Cooper if he is sacked by Forest.
Nottingham Forest already looking for replacements
Nottingham Forest are already looking for replacements for Steve Cooper. It does now seem that it is a matter of time before the 43-year-old loses his job at the City Ground.

Former Real Madrid and Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Julen Lopetegui is open to taking charge of City if Cooper is sacked.
There is speculation that Forest have been in touch with Oliver Glasner. Fulham manager Marco Silva has also been linked with the Reds. I do not see Silva leaving the Cottagers for Forest anytime soon.
