Crystal Palace are really keen on hiring Steve Cooper if he is sacked by Nottingham Forest.
That is according to journalist Daniel Taylor in The Athletic, who has reported what he has been told by sources.
So, what has been reported about Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper and Crystal Palace? Let’s take a look.
Crystal Palace’s interest in Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper is genuine
Well, according to The Athletic journalist Daniel Taylor, Crystal Palace really like Steve Cooper and could make a move for him if Nottingham Forest sack him.
The Daily Mail recently reported that Palace are following the situation of Cooper closely, and now Taylor has claimed that the Eagles could move for him if he becomes available.

Journalist Daniel Taylor wrote in The Athletic: “Palace are just the latest club (they interviewed Cooper, by the way, before giving Patrick Vieira the job in the summer of 2021, and it was a close-run thing who got the job) wondering if they can exploit the current situation. They have been admiring Cooper’s work from afar for a long time.
“So, yes, Palace’s current situation is worth monitoring. I’m told their interest in Cooper is real and that, if he does leave Forest, something could materialise that would see Hodgson moved out. The reports recently were absolutely spot on.”
Evangelos Marinakis should take note
In my view, Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis should take note of speculation that Crystal Palace want Steve Cooper.
Palace are a big and well-established club in the Premier League. Although there have been occasions in recent seasons when they have been in danger of getting relegated to the Championship, they are very much part of the English top flight.
If Palace think that Steve Cooper is good enough to manage them, then the 43-year-old is good enough to stay in charge of Forest. Gary Lineker has already warned Marinakis.
Marinakis has to stick with Cooper. After all, he was the manager who made sure that the Reds did not get relegated to the Championship at the end of last season.
I understand that things are tough for Forest at the moment. After all, the Reds have lost their last four Premier League games. Paul Merson has tipped them to go down to Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend.
But, we always knew that Forest were going to fight for survival in the Premier League this season. It is not a surprise. Marinakis has to back Cooper and keep faith in him.
