Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis personally admires two managers.

That is according to The Daily Mail, which has noted that Steve Cooper is under pressure at Forest after the defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

So, what has been reported about potential managerial targets of Nottingham Forest? Let’s take a look.

Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis admires Julen Lopetegui and Oliver Glasner

Well, Nottingham Forest lost against Tottenham Hotspur at the City Ground in the Premier League on Friday evening.

Forest went down 2-0. Tottenham scored one goal in the first half and another in the second period. The North London club also ended the game with 10 men.

While Forest had chances, Tottenham were the better team. Reds goalkeeper Matt Turner was poor.

Steve Cooper’s side are 16th in the Premier League table with 14 points from 17 matches. They are five points above third-from-bottom Luton Town, who have played 16 games.

According to The Daily Mail, Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is considering sacking Cooper as the manager.

The report has noted that Marinakis “admires other managers, particularly former Spain and Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui along with Oliver Glasner, who led Eintracht Frankfurt to the Europa League in 2022”.

Crystal Palace are looking at hiring Cooper if Forest decide to get rid of him.

Julen Lopetegui and Oliver Glasner are big-name managers

While Steve Cooper has done a very good job at Nottingham Forest, I have to say that Julen Lopetegui and Oliver Glasner are big-name managers.

Lopetegui was very good as the Wolverhampton Wanderers manager last season. The 57-year-old has also been in charge of Spain and Real Madrid in the past. He guided Sevilla to UEFA Europa League success in 2019-20.

Like Lopetegui, Oliver Glasner is without a managerial role at the moment. He led Eintracht Frankfurt to UEFA Europa League success in 2021-22.
