Chris Sutton has given his verdict on the Nottingham Forest players after watching them in action against Tottenham Hotspur.

Forest lost 2-0 to Tottenham at the City Ground in the Premier League on Friday evening.

So, what has Chris Sutton said about Nottingham Forest? Let’s take a look.

Chris Sutton comments on Nottingham Forest v Tottenham Hotspur

Well, Nottingham Forest lost 2-0 to Tottenham Hotspur at the City Ground in the Premier League on Friday evening.

Brazil international forward Richarlison put Spurs in the lead in the first half when he headed home a cross from Dejan Kulusevski.

Kulusevski himself scored the second goal for Tottenham in the 65th minute. Spurs had midfielder Yves Bissouma sent off just five minutes later.

Former Chelsea and Aston Villa striker Chris Sutton was following the match, and, as you can see, he noted that the Forest players did not lack commitment against Tottenham.

The BBC Sport pundit believes that although Steve Cooper’s position as the Forest manager will come under scrutiny, no one can say that the players are not playing for him.

Steve Cooper under pressure

In my view, Steve Cooper will be under pressure now. Nottingham Forest are really struggling at the moment, and I would not be surprised if club owner Evangelos Marinakis makes a big decision.

I personally do not think that Forest should sack Cooper. After all, he has been in a similar situation before. Cooper made sure that Forest did not get relegated to the Championship at the end of last season.

However, with Pedro Martins and Julen Lopetegui are among the managers who have already been linked with Forest, the signs are not looking very good for Cooper.

Forest are 16th in the Premier League table with 14 points from 17 matches. They are five points above third-from-bottom Luton Town, who have played 16 games.
