£13m player who Nottingham Forest were trying to sign has just ruptured his achilles

Nottingham Forest still have room to add even more players to their squad this summer despite having already signed six new faces.

It may not quite match the summer of 2022 when Forest brought in a total of 21 new signings, but this has certainly been a busy window.

And it comes at a time when some of the top clubs in the league have not made huge strides in the window with Liverpool yet to even sign one player.

That is not to say the Reds are going to put together a European charge this campaign but it goes to show the hard work done by Evangelos Marinakis and his chiefs.

The door remains open at the City Ground for more arrivals, but there is one player who will definitely not be arriving after a huge development.

Nottingham Forest target has just ruptured his achilles

Nuno Espirito Santo must be fairly pleased with the work being done at Forest in the market but he may be eyeing another full-back and striker.

Forest have shown an interest in potentially signing Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah this summer as he looks for a new club.

However, according to L’Equipe, one of the defenders who Forest had on their list this summer has just suffered a – likely – season-ending injury.

Forest have offered Bradley Locko a move to the City Ground this summer with the £13m-rated defender on their radar.

However, Locko has now sustained the achilles injury during training with Stade Brest having just returned from the Olympics.

Paris Saint-Germain had also shown some interest in Locko this summer as they looked to rival Forest and Tottenham Hotspur.

Nottingham Forest still need to add another left-back

Forest have done extremely well in the market this summer in bolstering their squad with new faces across the pitch.

The Reds have already added wingers to their squad with Ramon Sosa now expected to sign for Forest after undergoing his medical.

However, the position of left-back has now been added to with Ola Aina having impressed during Forest’s pre-season.

But Nuno could certainly do with another option and potentially even a starter in that position with Harry Toffolo’s spot potentially there to be taken.
