Stan Collymore says there’s four Nottingham Forest players to really impress him under Nuno Espirito Santo

Nottingham Forest’s bright start to the season has seen the Reds rack up one win and two draws from their opening three games.

Nuno Espirito Santo will be delighted by Forest‘s start to the campaign which has them sitting comfortably in the top half of the table.

However, that unbeaten start could come to an end on Saturday as they face a trip to Anfield to face a Liverpool side who have not even conceded a goal yet.

But there have been some real bright sparks in the Forest side so far this season despite having failed to score more than once in a single game.

If Forest are to take anything from the game on Merseyside, Nuno will be depending on his exciting forwards to provide something special.

Stan Collymore left impressed by four Forest players

Although the Reds have not exactly been free scoring, Forest have still been impressive in attack this season.

Virgil van Dijk has already admitted he is wary of the threats Forest’s attack could cause Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.

And it seems as if he is not the only one who is taking note of what the Reds are producing at the City Ground this term.

Speaking on TalkSPORT, Stan Collymore has admitted he has been shocked by how good four of Forest’s attackers have been so far.

“Chris Wood, the Kiwi up top, has scored four in his last five, which is exceptional,” he said.

“But if you look at their front four, Elanga – wanted by bigger clubs, Morgan Gibbs-White – makes his England debut, Hudson-Odoi – another player like Smith Rowe that has taken a step to go from an inverted commas big club and he is doing well at Forest. And Wood. A really well-balanced front four.”

Nottingham Forest could make a real statement at Anfield

The pundits are not optimistic that Forest will be able to come away from Anfield with a result on Saturday afternoon.

Paul Merson has admitted he cannot see anything other than a Liverpool win against Forest at Anfield.

With all of this in mind, there is no real pressure on Forest to take something from the game.

And this is potentially the ideal scenario for Forest going into the game with the Reds able to possibly sit back and try and catch Liverpool on the counter.

This is not the type of game which will determine Forest’s season so it could well be seen as an opportunity to make a real statement by maintaining their bright start.
