Nottingham Forest have a number of quality players in their squad these days and Anthony Elanga is among the players who can fit that bill.
The Reds took a chance on Elanga when the club agreed on a £15 million deal to sign him from Manchester United.
During his maiden spell in the Garibaldi, Elanga scored five goals and claimed nine assists as Forest maintained their place in the Premier League.
Elanga’s form for Forest was so impressive that Newcastle tried to sign him in the summer. However, the Reds stood firm on a £50 million valuation for his signature.
The 22-year-old player is far from perfect at this stage of his career. Earlier in the season, Elanga risked the wrath of Chris Wood by shooting against Southampton when an easy pass was available.
Still, he possesses a number of qualities and the Forest man has taken aim at some recent statistics that have come out – and it’s fair to say that he doesn’t agree with them.

Anthony Elanga thinks he’s the fastest player in the Premier League
With the second international break of the season curtailing domestic football for a little while, some statistics have started to emerge from the Premier League.
One set of facts they have released is the fastest players in the Premier League this season and Elanga is surprised that he’s not top of the list.
He told Fotbollskanalen: “I’m faster than the list says. I think most of my teammates would say the same. But I don’t trust the list. Haaland is fast. I think he’s faster than the list says. But I also think I’m faster than the list says.
“The three fastest in the Premier League on my list; Me, (Micky) van de Ven and… Haaland.”
Elanga striving for perfection this season
So far, Elanga only has one assist to his name this season and that came in the 1-0 victory over Liverpool in September.
He’s yet to score this season and his end product has perhaps been lacking to a certain degree during the current campaign.

Still, as he quite rightly says, his pace is a huge asset. As a replacement for Brennan Johnson on the right, that attribute was needed and he’s definitely added that.
Elanga is still a standout player at the City Ground. He’s a popular figure at the club and he works hard at his game in search of perfection.
At 22, Forest have signed a player with a really bright future. Now, the challenge for Nuno Espirito Santo is to find a system that suits Elanga and can help him weigh in with the same level of goals and assists as he did last season.
