Nottingham Forest appear to have turned a sizeable corner this season and in Callum Hudson-Odoi the club has a player who should only improve.

It’s been some journey for Hudson-Odoi and despite the fact that he’s only 23, he’s achieved so much in his career already.

Before signing for Forest, Hudson-Odoi won the Champions League with Chelsea and was also linked with a big-money move to Bayern Munich earlier in his career.

Forest landed Hudson-Odoi for an astonishing £5 million, with Chelsea choosing to cut their losses on a player who hasn’t been the same since a serious Achilles issue.

Hudson-Odoi worked closely with Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea and perhaps the news of his England appointment will be intriguing for the winger this week.

Forest beat Liverpool in September and after scoring the winner, Hudson-Odoi admitted that he upset his dad – who supports Liverpool.

The team spirit on Trentside feels very high at the moment and Hudson-Odoi is a positive part of that under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Callum Hudson-Odoi shares who pumps up Nottingham Forest before games

Ahead of the Premier League returning, the Premier League have released a video showing a number of players answering a series of different questions.

Several Forest players featured in the video that appeared on the Premier League’s official YouTube channel, with Hudson-Odoi answering one of the questions.

The one that the winger picked up was ‘Which player pumps up the team the most before games’, to which Hudson-Odoi replied: “Ola Aina.”

Aina arrived at Forest amid interest from Leeds in the summer of 2023 and he’s proved a very useful player on a free transfer.

The defender earns £40,000-a-week at Forest and there has been talk that Aina could be handed an extension to his contract at the City Ground in the coming months.

Aina can also lead by example in Forest leadership group

The 28-year-old wouldn’t be one of the first players to jump off the page if you compiled a list of potential leaders at Forest.

Morgan Gibbs-White, Ryan Yates, Nikola Milenkovic and Chris Wood would be the top names to consider – with Hudson-Odoi maybe among those players.

Aina is using his experience wisely it seems, however. He’s enjoyed a solid career to date playing in two countries and that has clearly put him in good stead.

It definitely feels as though the City Ground is a positive place to be right now and hopefully, the leaders of the pack can lead Forest to a strong position this season.
