Nottingham Forest have taken the action to appeal the decision made by the FA over Evangelos Marinakis’ actions against Brighton.
The FA seems to be in constant communication at the moment with Nottingham Forest over a number of various issues involving various people at the club.
Nottingham Forest’s clash with Brighton and Hove Albion was a real turning point for the club, as it’s led to an awful lot of mess with the FA.
Nuno Espirito Santo and Morgan Gibbs-White have been handed a three-game and one-game ban, respectively, following their part in the scenes at the AMEX.
However, it’s not all bad as Gibbs-White isn’t even fit to face Crystal Palace on Monday regardless.
Now, the club have officially released a statement on what they’ve done after the FA charge.

Evangelos Marinakis sanctioned by the FA
Evangelos Marinakis has been handed a five-game stadium ban by the FA following his misconduct charges due to his actions during the Brighton clash (as per Metro).
The statement stated.
“It was alleged that his behaviour around the tunnel area after the final whistle was improper. He denied this charge, but it was found proven by the independent Regulatory Commission, and a five-match stadium/ground suspension has been imposed.
“The independent Regulatory Commission’s written reasons for its decisions will be published in due course.”
Now, Nottingham Forest have filed a quick response by stating this on their official X account.
Nottingham Forest’s battle with the FA
The charge to Nuno Espirito Santo seems slightly unfair, as although he was more irate than Fabian Hurzeler of Brighton, he got a three-game ban whilst the latter got away with just a fine.
Gibbs-White’s doesn’t matter too much as he’s injured anyway, but the fact that he got a further suspension despite an independent panel finding that he shouldn’t have been sent off is crazy.
One incident that went unpunished was Nicolas Jackson lashing out after the game between Nottingham Forest and Chelsea, which is arguably worse than any verbal abuse.
Some consistency is definitely needed.
