Simon Jordan is known for his controversial comments in the football world, and he’s now taken a personal dig at Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis.

Nottingham Forest are impressing on the field of late with the second best defensive record in the Premier League, which has distracted fans from all the sanctions going on off it.

Nuno Espirito Santo spent the Crystal Palace game in the stands after being handed a three-match ban for his comments aimed towards the officials during the Brighton game.

He’s not the only one, as Morgan Gibbs-White was suspended for the Crystal Palace clash too after his reaction to his sending off at the AMEX.

The latest to be charged is Evangelos Marinakis for his actions during and after the same game. It’s been claimed that he spat near the officials, though he claims it’s to do with his smoking.

Now, Simon Jordan has weighed in on the situation involving the Nottingham Forest owner, and had some very personal things to say about him.

Simon Jordan was praising Marinakis for how far he’s taken Nottingham Forest since becoming the owner not so long ago, and he even said he’s done more than his good friend Nigel Doughty.

Now, he’s had a change of heart after the details involving Marinakis’ spitting and charges, as he ripped into the Nottingham Forest figure on air.

Speaking on TalkSPORT, Simon Jordan took aim at Marinakis’ weight and said he should be held to a higher standard.

“This is an ultimate disdain scenario. But obviously we know that he can put plenty in his mouth, so we shouldn’t be surprise when stuff comes out of it. But it is pretty unpalatable.

“It’s unbecoming irrespective of whether you are smoking cigars or you’re hacking up, to spit on the floor in public in front of other people when you occupy a position of influence or authority and standard bearing, isn’t a look that you should want.”

What has Simon Jordan said about Nottingham Forest in the past?

Simon Jordan has been full of praise for the atmosphere created at the City Ground by Nottingham Forest fans in the past.

The Reds finally got their first win of the season against Crystal Palace at the City Ground on Monday night, with the twelfth man helping sing them to victory.

Interestingly, Jordan even tipped Steve Cooper to get a run at the England job during his spell at Nottingham Forest, which doesn’t look likely at all now.

In fact, Forest are gearing up to face Cooper on Friday night in the East Midlands derby for the first time since he left the City Ground.
