Chris Wood issues update on the ‘knock’ he picked up during Nottingham Forest win

Chris Wood is making all the headlines for his goalscoring at Nottingham Forest, but he did pick up a slight knock against Leicester City.

Erling Haaland will be looking over his shoulder after Chris Wood‘s recent run of form, with seven goals in nine Premier League games so far this season.

Nottingham Forest have gelled together really well all over the pitch, with every player playing their part in a number of complete performances.

Elliot Anderson is a player who continues to go from strength to strength, and the pundits are starting to take notice too, as Gary Neville has now called him a ‘hell of a player’.

However, it wasn’t all smiles for Nottingham Forest at the King Power Stadium on Friday night, as Chris Wood went off with a slight knock in the second half.

For Nuno Espirito Santo, Chris Wood’s rise in form is no surprise, as he’s backed him from the beginning and sees him as an ‘amazing’ member of his squad.

With Morgan Gibbs-White currently out injured, Nuno won’t want to lose another key man.

However, it doesn’t look bad from what Chris Wood is letting on in a post-match interview with Optus Sport after the Leicester win.

He stated this when asked about how his ‘knock’ is.

“Yeah, he just stood on my foot, and it’s one of those. Hopefully it should be alright, it’s got another week to go.”

How are Ibrahim Sangare and Danilo getting on with their injuries?

Danilo and Ibrahim Sangare are more long-term issues that Nottingham Forest are dealing with after suffering injuries earlier on this season.

The former, Danilo, appears to be progressing well in his recovery, having started running in the swimming pool, after spending a lot of time in a protective boot.

There haven’t been too many updates on Sangare, but he is expected to return around the New Year alongside Danilo.

Both players will find it very difficult to break into this current Nottingham Forest side, as the likes of Elliot Anderson, Ryan Yates and Nicolas Dominguez are all impressing.
