Dane Murphy left Nottingham Forest by mutual consent back in 2023 and now it looks as if he could be set for a role with a Premier League rival.

Nottingham Forest parted ways with Dane Murphy by mutual consent in order for him to pursue other opportunities after joining the club in 2021.

Murphy oversaw Nottingham Forest’s promotion to the Premier League alongside Evangelos Marinakis, and now finds himself in a consultant role for RedBird and Otro.

Edu looks like he will be the man to step in and help run things alongside the Greek owner, which could involve overseeing things at Nottingham Forest.

Interestingly, it appears as if Murphy could be set for a similar role at a Premier League rival.

Dane Murphy held talks with Everton’s prospective new owners the Friedkin Group about a role

Everton are currently in the process of getting approval for the Friedkin Group to take over from Farhad Moshiri at Goodison Park as the new owners.

With Marinakis looking for someone to head up his multi-club operations, it appears as if the prospective Everton owners have the same idea.

According to the Athletic, Dane Murphy has held talks with the Friedkin Group about a consultant role, as they also own Italian giants Roma.

Given his previous experience at Nottingham Forest and how he’s already good friends with the American businessman, it does make sense.

Edu’s potential role at Nottingham Forest

As we know, Edu has many connections in the footballing world from his time at Arsenal.

He signed the likes of Nuno Tavares and Matt Turner for Arsenal, who have both worn the Nottingham Forest shirt, so he’s had some dealings with us already.

Interestingly, Edu is already a fan of Murillo having tried to sign him at the Emirates.

His role at Nottingham Forest wouldn’t differ much from Arsenal, working to try and identify transfer targets and improve operations, as well as build connections in countries and with clubs.
