Nottingham Forest have a short history of signing players from Brazil.
The Reds appeared to target the South American country shortly after winning promotion to the Premier League.
First, Gustavo Scarpa signed and although Ian Wright praised him, he never really settled.
The winger was joined at Forest in 2021 by Danilo and although he’s nursing a broken ankle right now, he looks like a very solid recruit at £16 million.
Corinthians have provided the best of the bunch from Brazil,
Manchester City tried to sign Murillo in the summer of 2023 but it was Forest who ultimately got themselves a £10.6 million bargain.
Murillo might play for Brazil this week and that would see his valuation continue to soar.
There was also Carlos Miguel – the 6ft 8in goalkeeper – who swapped Corinthians for £4 million during the summer transfer window.
Now, Forest might be about to raid the Brazilian outfit once again.

Nottingham Forest want Yuri Alberto
It’s been a truly amazing season for the talented striker who simply can’t stop scoring.
According to Trivela, Forest look the most likely to try and sign Alberto with the Reds not put off by his asking price of £25 million.
Corinthians President, Augusto Melo isn’t fazed, however, and thinks Alberto may remain a Corinthians player for next season.
He said: “Yuri Alberto has already shown this, which is why we had the economic rights for him. I’m not worried. He’s a very important player for Corinthians and we’ll definitely count on him in 2025.”
Signing Alberto probably wouldn’t be easy given that the player has a contract in Brazil until 2027.
Premier League interest was rife in the summer too, with Southampton keen to try and sign him although that move never materialised.
Yuri Alberto could be perfect alternative for Chris Wood
Alberto does feel like a different type of striker to that of Wood and even Taiwo Awoniyi.
The Reds tried hard to sign a striker in the summer but Santiago Gimenez actually rejected Forest on a number of occasions.
Alberto has been in blistering form this season, scoring 26 goals and claiming six assists from over 50 appearances in all competitions.
Although the Premier League would represent a step up, at 23-years-old he’d have bags of time on his side to settle in England.
At £25 million, Alberto could prove cheap and it would be very interesting indeed if Forest managed to strike it rich in the Brazilian market once again.
