Chris Wood brought his fine Nottingham Forest form with him onto the international stage as he put in another stellar display against Vanuatu for New Zealand.

It’s safe to say that Chris Wood is in the form of his career right now, with eight to his name in the Premier League and a constant flow on the international stage.

Wood’s form at Nottingham Forest has resulted in contract talks being set up as they look to keep him at the club for the foreseeable, though there’s been no breakthrough yet.

It remains to be seen as to how many years they’ll give him at the age of 32, but looking at how he’s performing he could have at least another couple of decent seasons.

Nottingham Forest fans are in for a treat when they find out what he did for New Zealand, as his hot streak continues.

How Chris Wood performed in New Zealand’s 8-1 win over Vanuatu

Vanuatu rank 157th in the FIFA rankings, which isn’t great, but New Zealand still had to get the job done and boy did they do that.

Chris Wood was substituted off in the second half after a very solid shift. He scored two goals in one minute, displaying his prolific nature in front of goal.

However, he could have had three or four but squandered a couple of chances in the second-half.

Nottingham Forest fans will be loving the sight of their star man bagging more goals away on international duty despite being jet-lagged, as he failed to do so against Newcastle.

Chris Wood needs to be at his best once he returns

Nottingham Forest are going to need Chris Wood more than ever once they return from international, with a tough run of games coming up, starting with Arsenal.

Elliot Anderson has been extremely impressed with Chris Wood of late, and even described him as playing like Ronaldo.

He got his reward for the fine start to the season by lifting the Premier League’s Player of the Month award for October alongside Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Reds have a brilliant chance of achieving European football this campaign, but you can’t help but feel that it’s very much dependent on the form of Wood.
