Nottingham Forest are on track to pull off what would be a truly memorable season in the Premier League.
With many pundits tipping Forest to be relegated this season, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have come out of the traps flying.
Of course, their last result against Newcastle United will have come as a disappointment but it cannot take away from what has been a really impressive start to the season.
Sky Sports pundit Kris Boyd has been wowed by Forest’s attacking intent this season with some really impressive individual performances.
And the Reds could replicate their away win at Liverpool with some big opportunities to cause an upset over the coming weeks.

However, there is one man in Martin O’Neill who may not be wishing all at the City Ground as much luck as others.

Martin O’Neill aims dig at Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis
There have been a lot of things to be excited about at Forest this season and O’Neill has been shocked by Chris Wood’s form so far.
But the former Forest manager has admitted on TalkSPORT that he is not exactly wishing the owner Evangelos Marinakis any luck for the remainder of the campaign.
“How would he [Marinakis] be my favourite person if he gave me 19 games and then disposed of me?” said O’Neill.
“How would he be my favourite person? I’m going to have a private conversation with the bosses of TalkSPORT and see how he feels if his job is being threatened every single week.”
Although the former boss is clearly is not a fan of Marinakis, O’Neill is a big fan of Ryan Yates with the pair sharing a wholesome interaction earlier in the season.

Martin O’Neill’s record as Nottingham Forest manager
Forest was the last managerial job which the 72-year-old had and he was only in the dugout for 19 games during the 2018/19 campaign.
| Results | Total |
|---|---|
| Wins | 8 |
| Draws | 3 |
| Losses | 8 |
| Points per game | 1.42 |
Perhaps O’Neill’s biggest issue was being unable to convert those eight losses into more draws with almost half of those games in charge resulting in defeat.
Earlier this year, O’Neill was linked with Rapid Bucharest, having held talks with the club’s owner about the position.
However, O’Neill did admit that he is still wishing Forest all the best but Marinakis does not exactly seem to be on his Christmas card list.
