Nottingham Forest are going to try once again this January to sign a centre-forward to strengthen the squad.
In the summer, the desire to add one to the ranks became a farce at times.
For a while, it looked as though Santiago Gimenez would sign but he rejected Forest for a third time on deadline day.
Then there was a move for Eddie Nketiah but he spoke to Oliver Glasner and signed for Crystal Palace instead.
On transfer deadline day – with hours of the window remaining – Omar Marmoush rejected Forest and the Reds were in limbo.
Nuno Espirito Santo told Evangelos Marinakis to save his money and the Reds stuck with the current options.
Now, names are starting to be mentioned with a move to Forest again and there is one doing the rounds that won’t go away.

Nottingham Forest set to bid for Yuri Alberto
It’s perhaps not surprising that Forest are considering another raid on Corinthians in the search for a new centre-forward.
According to BolaVIP, Corinthians are adamant that he will not be sold but a bid of £19 million would at least see talks commence.
Alberto has been in fine form this season with 27 goals to his name and he’s now receiving interest from European clubs.
The 23-year-old is a former teammate of Murillo and Carlos Miguel, with Forest now keen to add a third player from the Brazilian outfit.
It’s not clear what Forest will have available to spend in January but it does seem clear that a striker will be high on the list.
Chris Wood has scored eight goals this season but Taiwo Awoniyi struggling, another option wouldn’t go amiss.
Alberto could prove perfect Forest signing
This could be ideal and given his age, he could essentially prove to be an heir to the throne when Wood does leave Forest eventually.
Alberto clearly knows where the back of the net is and ultimately he’d get plenty of chances to prove that he can score goals in England.
His goal record in Brazil is very good and Forest have had lots of success with the South American market in previous transfer windows.
The Reds need to get a striker sorted in the next couple of windows and if the price is right, Alberto could be just the man to kick Forest to the next level.
