Nottingham Forest have the chance to add to Pep Guardiola’s misery as they head to the Etihad to face Manchester City on Wednesday.
Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side returned to winning ways against Ipswich Town last time out, with Chris Wood bagging his ninth goal of the season.
Wood equaled Bryan Roy’s record of 24 goals in the Premier League for Forest, which is some achievement at the City Ground.
Manchester City will pose a different threat to that of Ipswich, though you can never tell what kind of performance the Citizens are going to put in.
Having already beaten Liverpool away from home this season, there’s nothing stopping Forest from causing another upset.
Paul Merson has made his prediction ahead of Wednesday’s clash.

Paul Merson predicts the winner of Manchester City vs Nottingham Forest
Jota Silva was called upon on the right-hand side last time out against Ipswich, but Forest legend Steve Hodge didn’t like the look of the Portuguese in that role.
Anthony Elanga could be called upon this time round for his pace, as Forest may get some joy playing on the counter attack against the Citizens.
Paul Merson is hopeful for Nottingham Forest, but did end up predicting a 2-1 win to Man City.
Speaking in his Sportskeeda column, he said this.
“I want to predict a win for City, but this game is just perfect for a team like Nottingham Forest if I’m being honest. They are excellent on the counter, and facing City at this stage suits them. If they fail to score in the opening 20 minutes of this game, they will be in trouble.”
So, it appears as if Merson thinks Manchester City will be in trouble if Forest hold them in the first 20.
What’s the team news ahead of Manchester City?
Well, Nottingham Forest will still be without Danilo and Ibrahim Sangare, who are both still recovering and getting back up to match fitness.
Nottingham Forest fans have been desperate to see Danilo back in action after suffering a significant injury against Bournemouth.
However, Danilo won’t return for a good few weeks still, which may come as a disappointment to fans.
Ryan Yates and Nicolas Dominguez will likely get the nod in the holding role, whilst Morgan Gibbs-White will resume his duties slightly more advanced.
