Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has proved to be a wonderful signing for the football club.
When Hudson-Odoi joined Forest for £3 million it felt as though it could go one of two ways.
The winger had been blighted with injuries during his time with Chelsea and endured a rotten loan spell with Bayer Leverkusen.
As a result, there were some cynics around the City Ground who felt somewhat sceptical over the deal despite the bargain fee.
In fairness to Hudson-Odoi, however, he’s dispelled any theory that he’s no longer the same player that he once was at Chelsea.
Last season, he scored eight goals and although this time around things have been more of a slow burner, Hudson-Odoi is still a very important player for Forest.

Callum Hudson-Odoi raves about Nottingham Forest star Chris Wood
Hudson-Odoi has previously praised Ola Aina as the man who gets the Forest dressing room pumped before games.
However, it’s Wood who has now come in for some positivity from the Forest winger following his ninth goal of the campaign against Ipswich.
Wood has equalled Bryan Roy’s record of Premier League goals for Forest and does look set to smash through that total in the coming weeks.
Hudson-Odoi has delivered some praise on the Forest talisman and he believes Wood is worth his weight in gold.
He told the Daily Mail: “We do look towards him when we need something and he always produces.
“Whenever he’s in the box he’s a threat but he’s added other dimensions to his game. He can come short and link up.
“He can spread the ball or hold it up. He’s got more in his locker than just being a target man.”
Hudson-Odoi will hope to follow Wood on the goal trail again this season
The transformation of Wood under Nuno Espirito Santo has been pretty remarkable.
He was signed amid a backdrop of critique and many fans couldn’t believe that the club had parted with £15 million to sign him.
Almost two years on from his arrival, however, the New Zealand-born player has proved his critics wrong and is now one of the most feared marksmen in the Premier League.
With Hudson-Odoi helping him along there is a sense that he can enjoy a career-best goal haul for a single campaign during 2024/25.
Hudson-Odoi will hope to get some more goals too.
The 23-year-old found the way to goal on a regular basis last season but with just two strikes during the current campaign, he will be craving more.
Hudson-Odoi looks like a trusted member of the team under Espirito Santo and if he continues playing games, he should find more goals as the season progresses.
