Nottingham Forest have enjoyed a very impressive start to the season under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Now in his second season as Forest boss, Nuno Espirito Santo has helped transform the club from relegation strugglers to European competitors.

With statement wins over Manchester United and Aston Villa, the City Ground outfit enters 2025 with a real chance at securing European football.

To do so, Forest must enter the January market – to help beef up their squad options during the final stages of the season.

With that in mind, Nottingham Forest News have picked out three possible signings Evangelos Marinakis could make, that could help Forest secure a European spot for next campaign.

With all of Forest’s current wing options being right-footed, Nuno Espirito Santo could want some versatility in attack with a left-footer.

This follows news that Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested in Johan Bakayoko, following the 21-year-old’s impressive performances in the Champions League.

Fellow Premier League sides Liverpool and Newcastle are also said monitoring the 21-year-old’s situation, suggesting it may be a tough task for the Forest owners to pull off.

The Forest midfield has had it’s fair share of injuries so far this season, meaning it wouldn’t surprise to see them target a midfielder in January.

With that being said, Juventus’ Nicolo Fagioli is reportedly on Forest’s radar as a potential midfield option.

Able to play as a holding midfielder or slightly further forward, the Italian could provide good competition and cover for the likes of Ryan Yates and Nicolas Dominguez.

Taiwo Awoniyi’s fitness issues mixed with the fact Chris Wood has just turned 33, suggests Forest may be wise to bolster their forward options soon.

The striker position is reportedly on Nuno Espirito Santo’s radar – shown by Forest’s interest in Yuri Alberto.

23-years-old and banging goals in Brazil, Alberto could potentially be a backup/ long-term successor to Wood.
