Nottingham Forest must act fast as European giants are now ‘fully focused’ on stealing La Liga star

Extra attacking flair is at the top of the list for Nottingham Forest in January, with added quality in the forward areas seen as the key to securing European football.

With Forest looking at three key positions in January, one that could prove vital is an extra option out wide to support Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga.

Current backup Jota Silva has been linked with a move away from Forest whilst Ramon Sosa has yet to show his potential as a starter in the Forest squad.

Forest could even sell Elanga in January for a statement fee, emphasising that signing a wide player would be a smart move for Evangelos Marinakis.

Brazilian wonderkid Kaua Elias has been linked with Forest as a potential solution, but one recent report has suggested that another rumoured target could be set to move to one of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Ajax target Nottingham Forest-linked Raul Moro

One of the more sustained rumours leading into January was Forest’s interest in Raul Moro of Real Valladolid.

Valladolid’s Sporting Director is open to bids for Moro, but a recent report from Voetball International (via Tribal Football) has suggested that Dutch giants Ajax are strongly interested in a move for the Spaniard.

The report said: “After some deliberation, Ajax are now fully focused on signing Moro in the coming weeks.

“Ajax are prioritising Moro’s signing, with talks now underway between the two clubs over a fee for the 22-year-old.”

Given Valladolid’s willingness to sell Moro, it would seem that Ajax shouldn’t have too many issues completing a deal. If Forest are truly interested in Moro, they will need to act fast to secure their man.

Nottingham Forest can still sign Raul Moro if they act fast

Currently, Forest’s interest in a striker to support Wood’s output seems to be the most urgent priority for Evangelos Marinakis, with Forest reigniting their interest in Santiago Gimenez in January.

However, all reports on Moro have suggested that Valladolid won’t be asking for much money for their star man, so a deal for the winger could be one that Forest work on alongside the striker search.

The Forest owner will be looking to replicate the summer bargain signing of Nikola Milenkovic, who joined Forest for just £12 million and Moro could be available for a similar fee and offer a similarly excellent impact.
