Nottingham Forest are going to be pretty quiet in the transfer market his month, although it wouldn’t be a surprise to see at least one new player sign for the club.

Forest beat Wolves 3-0 on Monday to move onto 40 points from 20 Premier League games and Nuno Espirito Santo’s team are third in the table.

Morgan Gibbs-White celebrated wildly after opening the scoring against his former club and he’s been a very influential player this season.

Igor Jesus has been linked with Forest from Fluminense and if any new players do come to the club if feels likely they will be additions for the final third.

The big thing for Forest this month will be to keep hold of the current crop with interest seemingly rife in Espirito Santo’s squad after a brilliant first half to the season.

Murillo could fetch a world-record transfer fee for a defender, it’s been claimed and interest remains rife in some of the club’s other players too.

Manchester City make decision on Ola Aina

It’s been reported in recent months that City are keen to sign Aina as a replacement for Kyle Walker who has declined somewhat during the current campaign.

Now, Give Me Sport has claimed that City are weighing up whether or not to move for Aina before the transfer deadline in early February.

It’s believed that City are going to test the water and see if they can turn the head of the Nigerian before submitting any concrete bids.

Aina is in contract talks with Forest and a transfer fee will need to be agreed with the Reds if City are to prove successful in their efforts to sign the player this month.

City are actually below Forest in the Premier League table at the moment and have six points less than Forest with over half of the season played.

Aina appears happy at Forest but it remains to be seen where his head will lie should City prove successful in their efforts to sign him in the short term.

Since checking in on a free transfer after leaving Torino, Aina has quickly become a fan favourite with his all-action performances.

It would be devastating to see Aina leave the club anytime soon and borderline heartbreaking to see him join another Premier League club.

Right now, it’s hard to imagine that he would want to leave the City Ground, with Forest on the cusp of achieving something extremely special this season.

What happens in the summer remains to be seen but it’s very hard to think that any player would actively push to leave in the next few weeks.

Hopefully, an even longer contract can be given to Aina and Forest can enjoy the defender for many years to come.
