Nottingham Forest will be actively looking for reinforcements during the transfer window but perhaps the main priority will be to get some players out of the club.
Emmanuel Dennis has been linked with a Forest exit. His departure might not be the only one either with several players being discussed to move on this month.
Taiwo Awoniyi is wanted by West Ham but might yet remain on Trentside. Elsewhere, Willy Boly has been attracting interest this month from a number of clubs.
There could be others moving on this month too, however, with a number of players perhaps up for grabs should Nuno Espirito Santo get his desired targets.

Blackburn ask about Forest midfielder Lewis O’Brien
According to Alan Nixon via his Patreon, Blackburn boss John Eustace is keen to bring O’Brien to Ewood Park two years since a loan move to the club fell through in spectacular style.
Rovers forgot to send the right paperwork in time in January 2023. It meant that O’Brien remained in limbo and has since been out on loan to the MLS to continue playing some football somewhere.
Since a £10 million transfer from Huddersfield in the summer of 2022, O’Brien has made just 14 appearances for Forest and is now available to leave the football club this month.
It’s not clear whether Forest would welcome the approach from Blackburn at this stage given how they treated the player previously when he was desperate to head out on loan.
Forest must offload O’Brien permanently in transfer window
Another loan won’t be any good for anyone. Forest need to at the very least include some sort of clause in any O’Brien deal that lets him move somewhere permanently in the summer after a loan.
Blackburn are in the mix to win promotion this season. As a result, this move might not be the worst in the world if Forest can look to get some of the £10 million back that was paid for him.
O’Brien is a quality player at Championship level. It’s hard to understand why it didn’t work for him in the Premier League and he would surely welcome the chance to play for a club that might offer him that chance again in the future.
