Nottingham Forest will go in search of some new players before the closure of the transfer window and it’s no surprise to see attackers on the radar.

The Reds’ owner Evangelos Marinakis would like another forward. The club haven’t done any business this month just yet and it promises to be an intriguing end to the window.

There is a chance that Forest won’t sign anyone. After all, the current squad currently occupy third place in the Premier League and there is no real need for concern.

Several strikers have been linked. The strongest has come in the form of Wolves striker Matheus Cunha, with Forest eyeing a club-record move for the player.

It remains to be seen what will come of any of the links, however. Forest will want the squad to be well-stocked and it could be a hectic time of things behind the scenes.

Jesus has been linked with Arsenal this month. The Gunners are in need of a striker but made a bid to loan the striker and the offer was flatly refused by Brazilian champions Botafogo.

Now, Ornstein has rated the likelihood of Forest snaring Jesus this month. It’s not good news for the club’s supporters who might have fancied the versatile forward at the City Ground during the current window.

He told TalkSPORT on YouTube: “Forest are exploring other options too. Igor Jesus is a player that they’ve reportedly put an offer in for but he’s not keen to move and Botafogo need him so the likelihood is that he now stays.”

This would be a very useful signing from a Forest perspective. The Reds have enjoyed brilliant success with the Brazilian market previously and this could be another masterstroke.

Jesus is only 23-years-old and has been with Botafogo since July when he signed from Middle Eastern outfit Shabab Al-Ahli, enjoying a brilliant maiden season with the club.

Winning the league was largely down to his brilliance and as a result, it’s no surprise that clubs in Europe are now desperate to sign him before the window closes.

Sadly, this might not be the window where Forest land Jesus. His short-term future looks to be at Botafogo and perhaps this is another one for the Reds to revisit during the summer instead.
