Next up for Nottingham Forest is Brentford, and Gabby Agbonlahor has backed Nuno Espirito Santo’s men to come away with the victory.
With only five games of the Premier League season left to play, Nottingham Forest now face five cup finals to secure Champions League football.
Currently sitting sixth, Espirito Santo’s side can leap up to third with a win, that, however, will be no easy task given Forest’s poor record against Brentford.

Thomas Frank’s men will no doubt be a tough test for Forest, but Gabby Agbonlahor believes one big factor could cost them at the City Ground.

Gabby Agbonlahor backs Nottingham Forest to beat Brentford
Despite Paul Merson predicting a draw, Agbonlahor is far more positive about Forest’s chances against the Bees.
Speaking to TalkSport, the former Aston Villa striker claimed Forest could potentially take advantage of Brentford’s poor away record and come away with the win.
“I think this is going to be an outstanding game. I feel like Nottingham Forest were unfortunate and had some great chances in the semi-final of the FA Cup, lost to Manchester City. But they are going to be looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League.
“Their run of form hasn’t been the best in recent weeks. Brentford are a funny side and not great away from home, but very good at home. With Nottingham Forest having that home advantage, I back them to win this game quite comfortably. I am going to go with a 3-1 win for Nottingham Forest.”
Brentford’s away form will encourage Forest
Brentford themselves have enjoyed a very successful season, currently occupying 11th, still within a shot of securing a Conference League place.
One factor that could let the Bees down in their European hopes, though, is their patchy away record.
As Agbonlahor mentioned, the comparison between Brentford’s home and away form is drastic, currently ranking as the 13th worst away side compared to the eighth best home side.
| Brentford home vs away record | Games | Wins | Draws | Losses | Table ranking |
| Home record | 17 | 8 | 4 | 5 | 8th |
| Away record | 16 | 5 | 3 | 8 | 13th |
With Forest ranking one place above Brentford in the home form table, the stats could in fact come into play at the City Ground this evening.
