Transfer speculation is rife despite the season still having three games left, with Nottingham Forest’s search for additional quality still based on Champions League qualification.
Forest’s Champions League chances have taken a hit in recent weeks, dropping out of the top five and into the Europa League qualification positions.

Despite Simon Jordan saying Forest would prefer the Europa League, the top five places will remain Nuno Espirito Santo’s primary target until mathematically impossible.
European football will be an achievement regardless of the level, but also a selling point when attracting summer targets, including one who has made an interesting comment on this very topic.

Yoane Wissa on his Brentford future as Nottingham Forest lurk
Forest remain interested in Wissa after exploring a deal for the Congolese forward in January, as he would provide a strong blend of similarity and additional attributes to Chris Wood.
He looks set to be heavily involved in the transfer merry-go-round, whether he joins Forest or not, but his recent comments on the Obi One Podcast certainly suggest his Brentford future is uncertain.
Wissa said: “Even Brentford wants to be a European team, now they’re a Premier League team, but everyone wants to push forward. Of course, some players can and some cannot, which is fine; it’s part of the game. If you want to be the best player, you need to be at a bigger club.”
The fact that he feels that he’d need to move to achieve his greater goals in football puts Forest right in the mix for the Brentford man, who could offer European football to Wissa next season.
Forest also want Bryan Mbeumo in a swoop for both of Brentford’s stars, so a choice will need to be made about which to prioritise.
Yoane Wissa should be Nottingham Forest’s priority signing
The evidence was presented to the Forest manager just a week ago as Wissa coolly chipped over Matz Sels to double Brentford’s lead at the City Ground.
Wissa has proven that he is the real deal at Premier League level, with back-to-back seasons of double-figure goal returns for The Bees.
It’s not that Mbeumo would be a bad addition to the Forest squad, but his teammate’s more natural ability to play centrally should show the Reds that Wissa is their man.
Alongside this, Wissa was available for £40m in January, so a similar figure would be expected in the summer, less than what Brentford would demand for his strike partner. Mbeumo is also wanted by Arsenal, which will only drive up his valuation.
