Nottingham Forest are upping the ante in the quest to sign new players this summer.
It’s been a slow process since Anthony Elanga departed for Newcastle United, but now things are coming to life at the City Ground.
Morgan Gibbs-White has signed a new Forest contract, and when it comes to star players leaving, it looks as though Evangelos Marinakis has battened down the hatches.
Forest are set to sign Dan Ndoye, and now it would appear as though the club are going after another target with the season now under three weeks away.

Nottingham Forest press ahead to sign James McAtee
According to Sky Sports reporter Mark McAdam, Forest have bid £25 million for McAtee, with City rejecting it as they look for close to £30 million.
City are holding out for the best possible deal, with McAtee holding just a year on his contract.
However, McAtee does look set to leave the Etihad Stadium this summer and it would appear that Forest haven’t parked their interest despite Gibbs-White signing a new contract.
At 22-years-old, the player is somewhat inexperienced when it comes to regular first-team football, although he has played cup games and got some Premier League minutes from the bench.
McAtee has just captained the England under-21s to European Championship glory and as a result, he has a relationship on the pitch with Elliot Anderson already.
What Pep Guardiola has said about Forest-linked James McAtee
It will be a bit of a wrench for Guardiola to let McAtee leave, given that he’s praised him a number of times.
Guardiola called him ‘amazing’ after an FA Cup appearance last season and predicted a bright future for the player.
Amidst a glut of talent at City, however, McAtee is going to find game time hard to come by in the future and now looks like the right time to depart.
Hopefully, a fee of around £30 million will get Forest in business to win this race and the Reds might need to act fast in order to land McAtee with a host of clubs keen on him.
